Luke 6:38 says, Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” As I was reading this verse today and finishing up thank you cards, it really hit me how favored we are to live in such a "giving" community. I have had people tell me that our family has given them hope and a greater faith. That is not coming from us. That is coming from a "gift" that was given to us 18 years, three months, two weeks, and one day ago by our God. He loaned us two precious children. And as you know, he needed one of them back to fulfill a purpose. This purpose was to awaken the contributors of our community and bring us all closer to our King, our Savior, our Redeemer! Your "gifts" whether it be food, flowers, donations, cards, calls, texts, hugs or prayers have been appreciated beyond what you could ever imagine. God promised us that if we give that it will be given back to us. And I believe that He meant way beyond what we donate. God doesn't measure the gift, He measures our hearts and the way we offer the gift. With that being said, "our cup is running over" because of YOU! God has put it on your hearts to help us through a very difficult time. Some of you have done this anonymously so that we could never thank you for it. There are too many to mention, and they keep coming. It is our hope that you are reading this right now, and you know that your "good measure" is very much appreciated. To our friends, family, community and beyond; we say thank you for your gift! J.d. Paul you gave the greatest gift of all. Through our Savior you have given our community and beyond a new found faith and a heart for giving. God used you to lead people to Him. You, my son, have done well. I love you to the moon.... Thank you God for our gifts. I know You will "shake" them together and give back to the givers exceedingly beyond what they could ever imagine.
